Weekly roundup: some travel notes

I'm in a semi-vacation right now, so this will be short and sweet (for now, enjoy Mead's awesome open forum, and feel free to pipe in about what film master you try to copy when you take your camcorder for a spin). 

Open Forum VI, Part 2: An Inspiration

In Mead's last post, she said she was influenced by Sam Raimi and the fact that he financed Evil Dead like a true entrepreneur. That got me to thinking about all the videos I've seen that are really inspiring if you're making movies on a shoestring.

While I liked this video the first time I saw it, I just thought of all the super-imposed images as a gimmick. The second time though, I realized they're actually a brilliant conceit.
